Profile

When Jakob joined Chen & Lin in August, 2008, he handled various legal disputes, including employment, insurance, international sale of goods, product liability, cable TV and IP, and assisted in transaction matters.  In addition to Taiwan bar, he also passed the bar exams in New York State and P.R.C.

With the arrangement of Chen & Lin, Jakob went to White & Case LLP for training, exposed to the US practice of patent and antitrust litigation after graduation from Penn Law for the LL.M. degree. He focus on the transaction works after returning to Chen & Lin, including several M&A and capital market projects.  With the boom of Fintech, Jakob also devotes himself to the legal issues in connection with blockchain and ICO.

In addition to be a practitioner, Jakob also publishes more than forty academic essays in the field of corporate and securities laws, teaches at National Tsing Hua University and National Chengchi University.  Due to his performance in labor laws, he is also invited to present papers in the forum by National Taipei University to share his insights.

With the accumulation from practice and academic writings, Jakob is used to adopting in-depth thinking to help the clients identify the legal issues and risks involved. Leading the team at Chen & Lin, he could provide high-quality legal services within limited time and help the client to pursue the best option available.
